Service and dining room was a little hectic but our server Daniel was amazing and so fun. He taught my partner and I how to get to the meat way faster and more efficient than whatever the heck we were doing. 4 stars only because of how tight the spaces were and watching the ladies not really get any service next to us from their waiter. Glad we had Daniel!! We had the AYCE snow crab and it was so fresh. The corn and fries as sides were both so good! I may be going tonight to try to oyster bar!! Also those complimentary garlic pita chips?? To die for.

My family and I were visiting Chicago for my daughter's 26th birthday. She wanted a list of good food places to try so being an exceptional "foodie" expertise, I made a list of places based off of my fellow Yelp Eliters reviews and recommendations. My daughter loves seafood just like her Mommy and The King Crab House was a standout on my list. We made a reservation for 5 people for 8pm on a Saturday night. After touring the city, we realized that we were going to miss our reservation but we called and the host happily offered to change our reservation to 9pm instead. We arrived and were promptly seated at a booth in the back of the restaurant. The restaurant had just a few tables in the front, on the front patio and some bar seating also. We also learned that they have patio seating once you go through the back then through the back patio door. We ordered drinks then our server helped us to go over everything on the menu. I wanted one of EVERYTHING!! lol Our order consisted of King Crab legs with potatoes for the birthday girl, snow crab legs with potatoes and some fried soft shelled crab for myself, mussels in a garlic butter white wine sauce , Crab cake sandwich with Cajun corn, and calamari. Everything came out hot, super fresh and flavorful! No one was disappointed with their meal. The only complaint we had was they didn't keep our drinks or the complimentary pita chips refilled but I must admit that they were very close to closing for the day. If you are ever in the Chicago area please don't hesitate to drop in for a delicious meal. You won't be disappointed in ANY way! They also have a kids menu and daily specials!

We had a great experience at King Crab Chicago. We started with the fried oysters, mussels, and Maryland-style crab cakes--all of which were super flavorful and a great way to kick off the meal. For our main dishes, we went with the Alaskan jumbo king crab legs, Alaskan snow crab clusters, and lobster tail. Everything was fresh and tasty, and you could tell they use quality ingredients. The service was also spot-on--friendly and quick without feeling rushed. Overall, it's a solid spot for seafood, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're in the area.

This place should've have minimum 4.5 stars. Came here for the bar special menu which includes a variety of seafood with the order of two drinks of more. Probably some of the best oysters I've had in the city and got under $1 each it's a steal. Service was good but the food was even better. Do yourself a favor, get your self some oysters (fresh and fried) some peel and eat shrimp and a pound of their crab legs which were some of the sweetest most fresh crab legs I've had in Chicago. Steak was okay so I suggest to stick to the seafood

We haven't visited King Crab House Chicago in many years. Many years. Mostly because of the drive from the south suburbs. Today we decided to take a ride. Made reservations for noon. When we arrived the bar area was almost empty, so we decided to sit there. Initially we forgot to mention that we had reservations but my wife walked up to the host stand and advised (Jeff) who I believe was the manager that we made reservations. He thanks my wife because if you don't mention the reservation it posts as a no show and additionally they were pretty much full on reservation for the rest of the day so it was nice to know ours was freed up. Sitting at the bar is perfect for us. You can see the kitchen area at work, watch the oysters being shucked right in front of you and usually meet some really great people. In our experience it also allows you to see how the staff is working together. We were pretty amazed at the excellent interaction with the staff. They balanced well and checked on customers that were not always theirs. We had Erin as our server and she did a great job. After we arrived the restaurant started to fill up which meant Erin was moving back and fourth between the front and back and she did a great job of making sure she hit all of the necessary checks to make sure our experience was great. Sitting at the bar we also had a candid view of how Jeff handled the checking snd customer complaints. He really has a special gift of handling customers. We watched him balance a couple customers who did not have reservations (restaurant was reservation full) and do his best to accommodate them any way he could. His demeanor never changed from polite. If I owned a restaurant he would be a pleasure to have in that position. Let's talk about the food. Deals at the bar are really fair for Chicago establishments. Oysters less than a dollar each, peel and eat shrimp less than a dollar each. Several other bar seating deals. See attachment. Oysters shucked in front if you, can't get any fresher than that. Shrimp was cold and flavorful with an excellent cocktail sauce. Throw in some really good jalapeño poppers and you've got some great selections. Of course we couldn't lads up the regular specials. My wife had the steamed whole Maine lobster. 1 1/2 pounds. The lobster was presented cut in half with steamed red potato's. It might have been slightly over cooked because the tail meat was falling apart. The claw meat was excellent. I was really excited to have the soft shell crab. It's available in 2 or 4 piece dinner options. I chose the 4 piece of corse . They allowed me to have 2 sautéd and 2 blackened. I like them both. The blackened seasoning it strong on the delicate side crab. But the taste makes it acceptable. If I was just ordering 2, I'd go with sautéd. Service was excellent in an obvious full house environment. We'll definitely be making many more trips in the future. We feel Jeff and the staff have a good grasp on how to keep the patrons happy. -- with Lora K. Green Sheehy at King Crab House Chicago.

First time checking out the King Crab House in Chicago. The vibe in there is rustic and reminds of a Florida seafood restaurant. The quality is good and really recommend trying their famous king crab legs with the garlic butter sauce. Staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable.

Stopped in for dinner on a spontaneous Sunday and loved the atmosphere here. No frills but still with a nice vibe. I recommend sitting at the bar to watch the seafood action! There is a 2 drink minimum per person there though, which gave me an excuse to have some bubbly with my oysters. The oysters were fresh and delicious, as was my salad and spicy fried shrimp. Great experience overall and would love to come back for some more quality seafood!

We recently visited King Crab House after a 20 year hiatus. Moving to the burbs and having kids kept us away from the city. Thankfully, I came across a Facebook post with the bar specials, and that was enough to drag us back to one of our favorite haunts of our youth! The bar specials are only available on the high top tables or at the bar. We were lucky enough to get a spot right in front so we could enjoy the view of sweet home Chicago while we are. There is a two drink minimum per person to get the bar special pricing, but the drinks were reasonably priced and delicious! I ordered and inhaled two dozen oysters by myself. My husband is not a fan, but he really enjoyed the mussels and peel and eat shrimp. He even ordered buffalo wings and loved them as well! I had to try the soft shelled crab sandwich because it's seasonal and I can't get it all the time. I'm not sure I'd order it again. I'll probably stick to gorging on oysters. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The waitstaff and ambiance were terrific, and we can't wait to return. It won't be another twenty years, that's for sure!
